Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, says a broad-based implementation of the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda must include strategic agricultural development and empower women.

Mrs. Tinubu said this while meeting with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike at State House Abuja to discuss collaboration.

The First Lady praised the minister for prioritising women’s inclusion and the FCT’s development of agriculture. One of her pet projects, the Renewed Hope Initiative, has many potential benefits.

This morning, I saw a news flash that the FCT Minister is working with Israel on agriculture and wanted to talk to him about it.

We work with women and children, but not exclusively. We studied their work in Belarus. They have much to offer and are willing to help, even offering Renewed Hope Initiative scholarships.

You made our work easier today by putting the directorate there so we know how to reach them. I believe God is involved in our work. You eased my burden, Mrs. Tinubu said.

Mr. Wike, accompanied by FCT Minister of State Mariya Mahmood, said the collaboration is needed because the FCT has no women’s affairs directorate.

We want to help her care for women and achieve the Renewed Hope agenda. The FCT seeks to contribute to that agenda.

The minister will seek presidential approval to establish an FCT women’s affairs directorate.
