Rauf Aregbesola, a former interior minister, has reiterated the need for All Progressives Congress (APC) members to enhance the party’s political foundation in Osun State.
Aregbesola, a former governor of the state, made this statement on Saturday at a reception as part of celebrations celebrating his return to Osogbo.
Also, he stated that party leaders would soon travel the entire state to meet with party members.
“I sincerely appreciate all of you. You have all demonstrated to me extraordinary love, support, and strength, as well as a sense of unity and assurance that you are with us.
“We are appreciative. We won’t disappoint you. We will shortly start a tour of the entire state to meet with all our citizens and reassure them that we are committed to ensuring their well-being. Our commitment to advancing the APC is unwavering.
“Party officials will soon travel the entire state to visit party members and reiterate the necessity for them to develop the political base,” the statement reads.
Aregbesola thanked the people of Osun, the State Government led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, traditional leaders, groups, and associations, among others, for their unwavering support for him and his philosophy while acknowledging the assistance of everyone who contributed to the success of the homecoming event.
Rauf Aregbesola said on Wednesday that he has returned to restructure the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo.
He added that it was regrettable that “certain people” messed up and derailed the APC’s operations in the state.
