The Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has warned those posing as his followers not to disparage Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s general overseer (RCCG).

On May 10, Obi stated on his official Twitter account that it is “absolutely unacceptable” to criticise or slander prominent people.

Obi warns individuals who are targeting renowned Nigerians and sends a message to his fans.

He urged his fans to desist from using derogatory language and mistreating others.

“It is totally unacceptable for persons posing as Obidients to insult and abuse prominent figures like Most Reverend Pastor Enoch Adeboye or anyone else. Most Obidients are law-abiding people.

“Although disagreements of opinion are common, deliberate attempts to widen gulfs on the basis of race or religion solely for political purposes can under no circumstances be condoned. I abhor name-calling, insults, and abuse, and most of my supporters do as well.

The idea that certain fringe individuals engage in such behaviour carelessly ignores the fact that the political opposition uses such tactics to gain an unfair advantage, sow discord, and stoke animosity. – PO

Tribunal: As Obi rejects Atiku’s request for a live broadcast of the proceedings, pressure is increased on Tinubu
Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) have requested the Federal Court of Appeal in Abuja to broadcast live the proceedings at the ongoing presidential election petition tribunal.

Obi’s plea is in accordance with the one made by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, who originally put forth an identical request in a different application.

Obi requested permission from the tribunal through his legal representative Chris Uche so that Nigerians and voters who took part in the general election of 2023 might watch the proceedings from the comfort of their homes and workplaces.

May 29: Adeboye discusses what Tinubu, the incoming president, must do immediately after taking office.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG), has written a stern letter to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president.

Adeboye pleaded with the incoming president to realise Nigerians’ desire for a brand-new country that they could be proud of.

He asserted that the next administration should address all issues impeding the nation’s peace and progress and keep the commitments made during the campaign.
