Nigeria at 63: New month, renewed nation, infinite possibilities

Fellow Citizens,

As October begins, I greet our great nation on its 63rd Independence Day with hope and gratitude.

Our nation began a journey of hope and aspirations on October 1, 1960, guided by our founding fathers and mothers’ dreams.

These bright and promising dreams have been a bittersweet tale of partial realisation, hijacked by vested interests and detours that threatened our ambition.

However, the essence of these dreams has always remained.

The dream lives on in our hearts, inspiring our youth with passion and purpose. This unwavering hope drives the youth-led democracy and social justice movement.

This movement, inspired by our ancestors’ legacies and aspirations, strives to create a New Nigeria where every citizen enjoys the fruits of our shared heritage and resources.

Today, our 63rd Independence Day, celebrates our resilience and fortitude and points to an infinite future.

Youth, the heartbeat of our nation, your energy, ingenuity, and spirit are unmatched. Our future belongs to you, but your actions today determine its reality. Use that power for innovation, unity, and positive change.

To Nigeria’s resilient women, your strength and grace shape our nation subtly and profoundly. Your influence extends from Onitsha markets to Lagos boardrooms, Zaria medical labs, and Uyo academic halls. We thank you for nurturing, leading, inspiring, and transforming.

My beloved Anambra State exemplifies Nigeria’s untapped potential. We can use our entrepreneurial spirit, rich culture, and endless resources to benefit our state and nation.

Remember that renewal is a continuous process that requires commitment, collaboration, and love for our motherland as we celebrate Nigeria at 63. Let’s dream and act to ensure Nigeria’s best days are ahead.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! Celebrate this month as a renewed nation with endless possibilities.
