Tribunal will issue ruling on petitions filed by Atiku, Peter Obi, and APM on the same day

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has deferred judgement on the Allied Peoples Movement’s (APM) suit to nullify President Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shetimma’s 2023 election win.
The Tribunal reserved APM’s petition ruling to be delivered with Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar’s petitions seeking similar reliefs.

The Nation reported that Judge Haruna Tsammani, the petition’s presiding justice, said the court would decide on the APM case on the same day as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)/Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi/Labour Party (LP) petitions.

APM’s suit challenges President Tinubu’s 2023 presidential victory because Vice President Kashim Shettima had multiple nominations as a senate and vice presidential candidate before the February 25 votes.

The opposition party asked the court to overturn Tinubu’s election since INEC’s procedure was “flawed”.

Judge Tsammani deferred the decision until a date to be announced to the parties after the parties adopted their final written addresses on Friday morning.

The party petitioned INEC, President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ibrahim Masari.

News Direct reported in May that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has combined political party petitions before providing the pre-hearing report and trial timetable.
