Senator Degi-Eremienyo hailed his time in the Senate as “four exciting years of appropriately articulating and presenting the desires and ambitions of the great people of the senatorial district, Bayelsa state and indeed the nation” in a message he signed for TrackNews on Sunday.
A weekend valedictory session in Abuja concluded the 9th Senate.
Degi-Eremienyo praised Brass, Nembe, and Ogbia people and Chief Timipre Sylva, the former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.
He stated Sylva’s encouragement and support helped him realise his political aspirations and senatorial district campaign promises.
Senator Degi-Eremienyo also thanked former President Goodluck Jonathan for his support and occasional encouragement during the 9th National Assembly.
The senator thanked the traditional royal fathers of Nembe, Ogbia, and Brass local government areas of Bayelsa State for their royal blessings and prayers during the past four years.
My outstanding legacy of sponsorship of bills and motions, including attracting people-oriented critical infrastructural development projects, and youth and women empowerment programmes cutting across the nine constituencies in Bayelsa East, will have an enduring impact on the people’s lives.
“I thank all my teeming followers and admirers who voted for me in the 25th February, 2023 Senate election and urge you to keep hope alive, believe in the Almighty God even as I seek redress in the National and State Assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Yenagoa,” he said.
