Abuja, FCT – Judges on the presidential election petition court have received a warning from INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church Archbishop Elijah Ayodele.
According to The Tribune, the cleric must refrain from making pronouncements that may further rift the nation.
Ayodele was discussing the results of the February 25 presidential election, which resulted in Bola Tinubu being elected president.
The opposition parties, led by Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and the Labour Party, the flagbearers for the All Progressives Congress (APC), have protested Tinubu’s announcement and are already contesting the results in court.
Ayodele informs judges that the judiciary maintains peace and unity in Nigeria.
The Primate Ayodele’s media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, revealed the cleric’s stance in a statement that the judges are responsible for maintaining Nigeria’s unity and that any unfair court ruling will further plunge the nation into major trouble.
He continued by urging the judiciary to abstain from making judgements under the influence of people and warning that the consequences for the nation as a whole would be negative.
The primate insisted that any injustice would be rejected and that everyone’s focus was now on the court procedures, including the younger generation.
Judges were admonished not to bribe officials by Archbishop Ayodele.
In the state, Ayodele advised the judges to abstain from all financial transactions because doing so would taint their evaluation of the election’s outcome.
The future of Nigeria’s unity rests with our judicial system, and they decide whether Nigeria will continue to be peaceful or not. The ongoing presidential election tribunal will decide several things, including the unity of Nigeria, in addition to rendering a verdict.
