Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the general election of 2023, has removed a tweet in which he addressed Bola Tinubu as Mr. President.
Obi, who is contesting Tinubu, the APC candidate, being declared the winner of the poll held on February 25, had already criticised the president’s 120-car convoy when he arrived from France in a message posted on his official Twitter account.
In the since-deleted tweet, Obi stated: “Allegedly showing Mr. President driving with a convoy of roughly 120 cars. While I haven’t had a chance to see the aforementioned film, my advise is still the same: leaders at all levels of government must begin making sacrifices for a better Nigeria.
Afterwards, he took down the tweet and replaced the image of the “120-car convoy of Mr. President” with “a trending motorcade video.”
He said in the most recent tweet: “We can’t keep encouraging others to make sacrifices without making our own. Now that the people are suffering, the leaders must make sacrifices that are visible and quantifiable at all times. We have to lead the charge in finding solutions to the suffering right now.
