President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu recently said that in order to win the 2023 presidential election, he had to endure a difficult and exhausting political campaign. He also thanked Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, for his selfless leadership and for holding the fundamental position that the South should regain the presidency. “In governor Wike, his excellency, I see a man of principles. He is a man of remarkable integrity, in fact. He made the decision to serve the interests of the country and the residents of Rivers State, not his own. I appreciate his sacrificial leadership, Tinubu stated.

Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party are contesting the decision (LP). Yet, despite the difficulties, Tinubu has pledged to govern the nation with justice and equity.
