‘The sharks are around’—Governor Fubara suggests Wike’s APC defection

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has begged his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to remain close even if he switches parties.

Fubara mentioned this during a Sunday thanksgiving gathering for Wike at his Ada-George Road home.

“While we are seeing indicators that it’s like you want to walk over to the other side with everyone desiring that, please don’t stay too far from me because I know that the sharks, the tigers are actually around seeking for something to injure.

“So, being around would continue to guide and set my mind right for this state,” Fubara stated.

His appeal follows rumours that Wike may leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Wike supported Bola Tinubu, the 2023 presidential election winner, instead of his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
