The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state congratulated Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON) on Saturday’s Election Petition Tribunal victory.

The Tribunal, chaired by Justice H. N. Kunaza and supported by Justice J B Egele (Member 1) and Justice Sannusi Shehu (Member 2), dismissed the petition filed by the PDP and its defeated candidate, Ladi Adebutu, on the grounds of incompetence, vagueness, and lack of understanding of the Electoral Act’s wordings, among others.

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Tunde Oladunnoye, the APC quoted state Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi as calling the party’s election and Tribunal victory a “divine mandate”.

We visited 20 local governments in the state, some twice, campaigned vigorously in the wards, and showcased what our party and government have done in four years.

Was doing. We commissioned and inaugurated new projects in most of our campaigns, a first in Nigerian electioneering. Our supporters trusted us and voted for continuity. We were confident in our electoral victory, which was divine,” Sanusi said.

We always knew the PDP was as disorganised as its ramshackle petitions, which the party and its highly incompetent and runaway defeated candidate knew would fail. They wanted to reap what they didn’t sow, forgetting you can’t build on nothing. Their frivolous petitions were treated fairly by the Tribunal. We hope Ladi Adebutu will humble himself and return to Nigeria to face his High Court charges of vote buying and money laundering. The APC chairman challenged him to return to Nigeria with manhood.

Sanusi praised the winning legal team: “Our party and Governor assembled the best brains in election tribunal warfare in Nigeria today. He added that this case relies on no election dispute and that at least one of our lawyers is not involved.

Please give God the most credit and glory. To Prince Dapo Abiodun’s detractors’ dismay, we appreciate God’s unusual grace. Rarely do people have this grace that God opens the roof for them when they seem trapped. Sanusi concluded that many still don’t understand why God chose Dapo Abiodun against all odds, but He did, and his detractors couldn’t stop Him.
