The court said that interested TV stations may broadcast verdicts live.
According to the Nigerian Court of Appeal, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal will rule on petitions contesting Bola Tinubu’s election win on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

The court said that interested TV stations may broadcast verdicts live.

SaharaReporters claimed on Monday that the PEPT in Abuja will rule on petitions contesting President Tinubu’s election on September 6.

The Tribunal consolidated the petitions filed by several political parties in its pre-hearing report and trial schedule in May, SaharaReporters said.

It deferred decision on the petitions brought by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar to give the judgements on the same day as Peter Obi’s.

The statement reads, “The Court of Appeal wishes to inform the General Public that judgement in the following petitions before the Presidential Election Petition Court will be delivered on Wednesday, September 6, 2023: CA/PEPC/03/2023 between Mr. Peter Gregory Obi & Anor VS. Independent National Electoral Commission & 3 Ors; CA/PEPC/04/2023 between Allied Peoples Movement & 4 Ors; CA/PEPC/05/2023 between Abubakar Atiku & Anor.”

“To enhance transparency and openness, interested TV stations will broadcast these decisions live for the public to follow.”

Entrance to the Court will be through accreditation. Only authorized Lawyers and Political Party officials may enter the Courtroom. Television is recommended for interested parties.

As stated in the statement, we need public collaboration to achieve a smooth exercise.
