Anambra, Nnewi North LGA Chief Theophilus Ignwebike, an Anambra state Labour Party (LP) chieftain, chastised Alhaji Lai Mohammed for criticising the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The minister claimed Obi did not order his running mate, Datti Baba Ahmed, when the VP candidate recommended that Tinubu not be sworn in as president on May 29 until the court resolved his election challenges.
As Lai Mohammed criticised Peter Obi, Anambra Labour Party leader Theophilus Ignwebike defended him.
Lai Mohammed, Peter Obi

Datti Ahmed, the LP vice presidential candidate, said that if the APC presidential candidate was sworn in without meeting constitutional conditions, democracy in Nigeria would be lost.
Mohammed, a big shareholder, chastised Obi for remaining silent over Datti’s charges.
Why Peter Obi cannot warn Datti Baba Ahmed, LP leader,
Chief Ignwebike told Legit.ng on Thursday, April 20, that Lai Mohammed never tells the truth. Ignwebike told regional correspondent in Anambra, Mokwugwo Solomon, that the courts and the federal government must quickly dispose of Tinubu’s problematic problems to guarantee that the correct candidate meets constitutional criteria on May 29.
He said:
“Lai Mohammed has no rational argument.” How could Peter Obi, who claims his mandate was stolen in plain sight, warn his vice for coming up against their shared ticket’s injustice?
“Any right-thinking Nigerian who thinks the 2023 presidential election was unfair would agree with Datti Baba Ahmed that the judiciary must do more to settle all Tinubu’s win disputes before May 29.”
“Tinubu’s presidency-elect announcement has several difficulties.” He misrepresented his mixed citizenship. Two is that the election umpire pronounced him victorious, while a candidate who fails to collect 25% of the vote in the FCT, Abuja, should not be elected president. Tinubu’s reported drug transaction disqualified him from running. Again, INEC violated electoral laws to elect Tinubu as president-elect.
“Several concerns must be resolved by May 29.” INEC, FG, the courts, and APC must not ignore Nigerians on this subject. “I propose resolving these basic concerns soon to avoid swearing in the incorrect individual.”
2023 elections: LP leader Theophilus Ignwebike criticises INEC
The LP leader also accused INEC and its chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, of rigging the election after spending over N300 billion of taxpayers’ money.
He praised the LP standard bearer, Peter Obi, for calming Nigerian youths who may have recreated the EndSARS demonstration over the presidential election.
Ignwebike urged religious groups and well-meaning Nigerians to pray for the Hon. Justices who would rule on the issue so they wouldn’t pervert justice and cause unneeded chaos.
He added:
“Nigeria cannot afford a civil war.” We’re done. Nigerians, the judges, and the ruling APC—including Tinubu—know the presidential election was rigged.
“Let the deception and truth be disclosed, so Nigeria will increase the approaching tempest.”
“I will never intentionally breach any law”: Peter Obi on current events
Peter Obi told Legit.ng that humans make errors and he would never breach the law.
Notwithstanding his veiled comment, the Labour Party presidential candidate pledged to work for a new Nigeria.
The opposition accused the former governor of Anambra of treason and his running mate of fascism for his post-election activities.
