President Bola Tinubu has been urged to investigate former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor Godwin Emefile, former EFCC chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa, and former president Muhammadu Buhari and his corrupt appointments.
The Archbishop of Enugu Province and Bishop of Enugu Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, made the appeal in Enugu at the close of the Third Session of the 18th Synod of the diocese, reiterating that Buhari’s regime was Nigeria’s worst and most corrupt.
He added it would be wrong to arrest and examine Emefile and Bawa for corrupt acts while leaving the guy who approved such conduct and several of his corrupt ministers, including the one who played Nigeria and Nigerians “419.”
“We are asking the federal government to investigate those under Buhari who have screwed up because the Buhari regime is the worst and most corrupt we have ever seen in our country. I’ll say it: this country’s worst and most corrupt government.
Investigate Buhari. They should answer how much they spent on Emefile’s medical treatment abroad. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs collected N500 billion each month. Who received her poverty alleviation funds? Did she spend it somewhere?
The information minister and the aviation minister who did 419 with Ethiopian Airlines should be arrested and investigated. He tricked us, stole powder from the Ethiopian Airline jet, and told Air Nigeria these individuals cannot walk scot-free. The previous minister of works and housing should be arrested for failing to deliver on the Enugu-Onitsha motorway fund.
The 2nd Niger Bridge isn’t being used. Therefore open the 2nd Niger Bridge for use and prove it. If not, Buhari’s 419 is unacceptable.”
Chukwuma demanded Nnamdi Kanu’s release again.
Again, Nnamdi Kanu should be liberated. The Fulani ranchers and bandits did worse than him. Releasing Nnamdi Kanu would reduce South East suffering and end this sit-at-home. We applaud Governor Enugu State. However, some are still upset because Nnamdi Kanu is still in prison. Tinubu should realise keeping him is unfair if it punishes the South East. Tinubu should prioritise South East peace and free Nnamdi Kanu.
“Also, we are asking him to utilise his diplomatic status to talk to the King of England to decrease the sentence of Ike Ekweremadu and his wife or give them amnesty.
“We accept the decision but hope they lessen the punishment to make them remain short time and return back. He did nothing wrong except raise his kid.”
“President, governors and all those political authorities should minimise their convoy,” the monk said, adding that increasing gasoline prices would be wasteful to place 12 to 20 cars in one convoy. Abuse and carelessness with 12-20 trucks in a convoy is bad for us.”
