The Nigerian scored his maiden Serie A goal for the Garnets, but they did not prolong his loan.
On June 30, Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong will leave Salernitana and return to England.

US Salernitana 1919 paid €500,000 to loan Troost-Ekong for six months in January.

If pleased, Salernitana might buy the former Udinese star.

On January 24, Troost-Ekong joined Salernitana, who was in 16th position and fighting relegation.

The Super Eagles defender played nine league matches and scored his first Serie A goal despite injury. Salernitana won 3-2 against Udinese Calcio with Troost-late Ekong’s goal.

Garnets finished 15th, retaining their Serie A status.

Yet, recent Italian sources suggest that Salernitana are planning a huge summer player purge.

Troost-Ekong returned to Watford after the club declined to make his transfer permanent.

Watford finished 11th in the 24-team Championship in 2022-2023.

Troost-English Ekong’s club contract ends on June 30, 2025.
