Six people were slain again as gunmen raided the Riyom Local Government Area in Plateau State.
A source said that the event occurred in the RahossSambak hamlet of Rahoss and occurred on Tuesday at about 7 o’clock.
He continued by saying that the accident victim’s body was in such poor condition that the locals chose to bury him that same night.
The source stressed that as the mourners were attempting to pick up the bodies of the villagers of those murdered, the attackers ambushed them and killed four of them. The source further revealed that while the mourners were heading home, they encountered an ambush in which two people were shot.
He lamented that if such an incident could occur in the middle of Riyom town, it would prove that people could be more secure there.
Calls to Alabo Alfred, the state police command spokesperson, seeking confirmation of the event were not returned.
