AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is facing criticism from Italian pundit Fabrizio Ponciroli for his handling of Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal last summer for a potential fee of 28 million euros. Although he initially struggled in Serie A, he has begun to showcase his talent since the previous month.

Despite this improvement, Chukwueze has only started four of AC Milan’s 14 matches since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Pioli continues to favour Christian Pulisic in the right-wing role, leaving Chukwueze on the bench, much to the frustration of fans who are eager to see him play regularly.

Ponciroli believes Pioli should adjust his formation to include Chukwueze in the starting lineup, criticizing the manager’s preference for other players like Musah over the Nigerian winger.

Expressing his discontent, Ponciroli suggests that Pioli has lost control of the situation and questions the manager’s decision-making, believing that Chukwueze should be given more opportunities on the field.
