Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has been chastised by the Abia North Peace Foundation for his remarks on Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu.
In a recent television appearance, Ohuabunwa, who lost senatorial elections against Kalu in 2019 and 2023, said that Senator Kalu is unqualified to command the Nigerian Senate.
In response to Ohuabunwa, the Abia North Peace Foundation accused him of attempting to gain significance by assaulting Kalu.
Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, the group’s President General, claimed that Kalu is eligible to run for Senate President.
The party was surprised that Ohuabunwa, an Abia North son, was leading a campaign against Kalu’s aspirations.
“I will feel bad because I don’t believe he is competent to lead the Senate,” Ohuabunwa said in a televised interview.
