The NPFL’s disciplinary Committee overturned the suspension at Bayelsa State’s Samson Siasia Stadium.
The three-case disciplinary Committee at the NFF headquarters in Abuja decided to open the stadium for football.
The Committee ruled that Bayelsa United FC violated Rule B.8.21 of the NPFL Framework and Regulations for failing to secure match officials in the match against Doma United FC.
An attack on Assistant Referee II, Mr. Ojeleye Ebenezer, violated NPFL Framework and Regulations Rule C.11.
Bayelsa United FC violated NPFL Framework and Regulations Rule B.13.52 for allowing unauthorised access to all prohibited areas.
Nayelsa United submitted a police investigation report and a logistical receipt for N250,000.00 to Bayelsa State FA.
The Committee concludes that Bayelsa United FC’s tendering of receipt of payment for “LOGISTICS” to Bayelsa State Football Association is not sufficient evidence to establish proof of adequate security for match officials as required by Rule 8.21 of the Framework and Rules of the NPFL, which clearly states that “The Match Officials shall be given adequate security before, during, and after a match, notwithstanding the circumstances.”
The Committee supports Paragraph 2 of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) findings in the Summary Jurisdiction Notice, Form 16, that Bayelsa United FC violated Regulation C.11 of the RFN, Premier Football League by assaulting Assistant Referee II Ojeleye Ebenezer.
The Committee upheld Paragraph 3 of the IMC’s conclusions in the Summary Jurisdiction Notice, Form 16, that Bayelsa United FC failed to limit unauthorized entry to all restricted areas, resulting in a match official’s attack.
In paragraphs (a)–(e) of its judgement, the NFF Disciplinary Committee approved the punishments in the Summary Jurisdiction Notice of the IMC dated 2 February 2023 for match day 5 of the 2022–2023 season against Bayelsa United FC and Doma United FC.
Mr. Joseph Zidogha (aka One-Man Riot) should be banned from all NFF and NPFL activities for two years.
That the Order shutting Samson Siasia Stadium to supporters indefinitely is rescinded.
