According to a Monday statement from the English Football Association, Bukayo Saka will not play in England’s two matches against Australia and Italy.

After being examined by medical personnel at St. George’s Park, the 22-year-old winger was sent back from camp.

Despite missing Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday, Saka reported for international duty.

But the Arsenal star was sent back to the Premier League club to finish his recovery after being assessed by the England medical staff.

The Arsenal winger, 22, was a member of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad last week, but he could not play in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City because of recent hamstring pain.

The forward and the rest of the Three Lions team arrived at St. George’s Park on Monday.

“After being injured on Sunday and missing Arsenal’s Premier League victory against Manchester City, Saka was examined by the England medical staff, and it was determined that the player would complete his recovery at his club.

The FA said, “No replacements are planned, with Gareth Southgate having a squad of 25 players to work with.

Before playing Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifying match on October 17 at the national stadium, England hosts Australia in a friendly on Friday at Wembley.
