Usman Baba, the former Inspector-General of Police, has stirred up social media with posters signalling his interest in the Yobe Senatorial district primary.

Usman Baba may run for the Yobe South senatorial seat under the All Progressive Congress (APC) after Ibrahim Geidam resigned to become a minister.

Last Monday, President Bola Tinubu delivered the red chamber the second set of ministerial nominations, including Yobe State senator Geidam.

The former IGP’s senatorial poster has divided Nigerians on social media.

“Na senate come be all those individuals retiring sitting room.”

d2oris wrote: “No need to wonder why the cops did little throughout the election crises.”

captainotkross said, “They all base their professions off Nigeria money, nothing terrible however if its for nice vibes.”

“If I were the senator, I won’t resign until the final conclusion of the presidential election tribunal,” Engrcotti wrote.

Happy Baby wrote: Even though the police are APC members, they are simply wrecking our nation as they like.”

eziokwu bu ndu1 wrote: “Very shameful and sad.

She didn’t even leave the workplace for weeks before revealing “her” true nature. We realised they were all APC members by their national issue behaviour.”

“That is the fundamental issue with our nation since all institutions that have to be independent are politically afflicted,” stated Chriswolex.
