“Removing Wike from PDP is a task that needs to be completed”

Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2023 Presidential Candidate’s Director of Research, Strategy, and Documentation, said Nyesom Wike’s expulsion is necessary for the party’s survival.

He said Wike should be fired for calling for the suspension or expulsion of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, his constant criticism of the party, and his betrayals.

Monday’s Abuja journalist interview with Obaseki stated this.

According to him, Wike, who was Rivers State Governor before becoming Minister, has been involved in most of the PDP’s internal crisis due to his insatiable desire to flay the party’s Presidential flag.

Wike has been inconsolable since his schemings began with his support for Uche Secondus for party chairmanship and ended with his defeat at the PDP Presidential primaries.

Obaseki said, “Wike was (/is) the problem of the PDP, and to expel Wike now is a task that the PDP must do.”

Obaseki responded to Wike’s call for Atiku’s PDP expulsion by saying, “The man who is calling for the expulsion of others deserves to be expelled.”

Wike created the G-5 party cult. He campaigned against the party’s constitution, will, and structures.

Nyesom Wike was anti-party. He’s fought every party member known. Former Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle cited him as why he left the party. He left the party, according to Dave Umahi.

Professor Ben Ayade cited him for leaving the party. Why has Nyesom Wike become the tortoise in every bad story?

Wike has crossed the red line and should be ready. When we hit him like a thousand bricks, he has the money to fight back.

He has unleashed the dogs of war, and we will not sit back and watch him trample the party and the majority of Nigerians as he did for eight years over the Rivers people’s humility. That is insufficient.”

The Director called the Minister’s claim that he was fighting the party for violating zoning rules cheap blackmail.

He claimed that the former Rivers State Governor has been plotting his graph since 2021 and that the PDP never zoned its 2023 presidential ticket to the South.

Obaseki said, “The party never said power should go to the South because it was the South’s turn in the PDP but the APC’s.

Six elections have occurred since 1999. The South received four of the six PDP donations. Two to Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.

“But the party gave the North two of six. Yar’ Adua and Atiku. I presented to the governors in December 2021 in Asaba, but Nyesom Wike wanted open primaries.

He wasn’t campaigning, but I was for the South-East and North-East because they were the only zones to rule our country since January 15, 1966, outside the South-six-month East’s hiatus with General Aguiyi Ironsi.

Knowing that he was less than 106km from Otuoke in Jonathan’s home state, Wike had no moral right to run for president when the immediate Southern President and the last PDP president were from the same former Rivers State. Wike was fighting for himself to prepare for his run.”

Nigerians deserve better, so the Supreme Court case to reclaim the party’s stolen mandate will be pursued to its conclusion.
