Ogun State’s Abeokuta Before taking office, Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (A.P.C.’s) presidential candidate, said that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) plan to redesign the naira was intended to scuttle the 2023 presidential election.
But, during the election that he later won, Tinubu advised Nigerians to refrain from letting the development dampen their spirits in exercising their civic duty by voting.
Tinubu had sounded the alarm that the Naira scarcity was against my desire to run for president.
The current president then stressed that Godwin Emefiele, the CBN’s embattled governor, had deliberately sabotaged the currency shortage in the nation in order to turn Nigerians against the A.P.C.
He made the remark at a presidential campaign event hosted at the well-known M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state.
As his campaign train was launched in Ogun State for the presidential campaign rally, the A.P.C. presidential flag bearer spoke in Abeokuta. The rally was held at the well-known M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
As it came time for the 2023 elections, Tinubu announced that he would be bringing about a “great revolution” that would revolutionise Nigeria, alleviate its citizens’ suffering, and raise the standard of life for the average person.
Later, on March 1st, he went on to win the election.
Almost two weeks after taking over as president, Tinubu declared Emefiele’s suspension as CBN governor and commanded an immediate investigation into the former head of the central bank.
