Abuja – Before the Nov. 11 gubernatorial election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ordered the Imo police command to be professional.
On Tuesday, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba advised the party in Abuja.

“PDP also condemns the unlawful use of security personnel by the APC in Imo to harass and intimidate opposition leaders,” Ologunagba said.
He added, “The latest is a disgraceful effort by the APC to deploy specific police agents to arrest and remove Onyereri from circulation before the election.

Ologunagba claimed Gov. Hope Uzodimma and the APC have been restless since Sen. Samuel Anyanwu and Onyereri became the PDP’s gubernatorial and deputy governorship candidates.
He asserted that they were using state tools to harass them because of the PDP candidates’ popularity.

He stated that the PDP was aware of additional covert conspiracies to deploy compromised persons in government institutions to fabricate charges, false accusations, and smear campaigns against opposition personalities in the State.

“The APC must know that Imo State is a traditional PDP State; that the people have seen through the APC’s antics and are now, more than ever before, willing, able, and ready to resist the APC and take back their State on the platform of the PDP.

“The people of Imo are solidly behind our Candidates, Anyanwu and Onyereri, being confident in their experience, competence, capacity, resourcefulness, love for the people, and deep intellect to rescue, revamp and make Imo State safe.

Ologunagba declared that Imo residents will vote for the PDP in November despite suppression, intimidation, and harassment.
