“Peter Obi’s Expected Statement: Revealing His Political Prospects Following the Supreme Court’s Decision”

After the Supreme Court rejected his petition challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi will soon announce his political future.

Yunusa Tanko, LP Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, said this after the court ruling on Thursday.

Tanko lamented that the Supreme Court ignored the party’s pleas and that they are using the “masses’ court.”

“We believe we proved our cases beyond a reasonable doubt, but the court chose to ignore our plea. Tanko stated that they had decided.

We will only appeal to the masses—the public and people of Nigeria—as democrats. They can evaluate this judgement against their current situation and the credibility of the enthroned leadership.

“We will obey the law and democracy. Remember that democracy allows people to speak out if they’re offended. Since we’ve done our part, we’ll let the masses decide.”

Tanko also said the party asked the court to interpret the 25% qualification of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and INEC processes according to the Electoral Act, but the court ignored them.
