The Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi was hilariously asked to go on the pitch and canvass for votes by Chris Ngige, the minister of labour and employment, on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Workers’ Day celebration in Eagle Square in Abuja.
While at the gathering, Ngige and Obi engaged in a playful chat. Obi was convinced by the Labour Minister to avoid the Labour Day celebrations and focus on his electoral campaign instead.
Leave us alone, oo; we’ll celebrate Labour Day here. Go to the polls and ask for votes, Ngige said.
Obi spoke to Ngige as his “older brother” in his usual calm and controlled way.
Ngige then gave Obi a seat before quickly covering the LP candidate’s head with a face hat.
