Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were proclaimed victors of the recently conducted re-run polls in Khana/Gokhana and Port Harcourt City Local Government Area Federal Constituency 2 (PHALGHA 2) in Rivers on Sunday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the result at Bori, Rivers, through its Returning Officer for Khana/Gokhana Constituency, Kingsely Owete.
Mr Owete stated that Dunameme Dekor, the PDP candidate in Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency who won the rerun election, met the legal conditions.
He stated that Mr Dekor won with 18,641 votes, outnumbering his closest challenger, Friday Nkeeh of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who had 10,165 votes.
Mr Dekor responded by thanking the residents of Khana/Ghokana seat for choosing him and promising to bring development to the area.
INEC also pronounced Blessing Amadi of the PDP the winner of the election in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area Federal Constituency 2. (PHALGHA 2).

Mr Amadi also thanked the residents of PHALGHA 2 for their support and reiterated her dedication to the constituency’s development.
She also praised INEC for ensuring that the BVAS devices worked properly.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Collins Owhonda, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in Rivers, withdrew from the campaign 24 hours before the poll and declared his switch to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
