Dino Melaye, Douye Diri, and Sam Anyanwu, candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming November 11 gubernatorial elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo States, have each obtained their certificates of return.

According to Naija News, the trio received the certificate of return yesterday at the party’s official inauguration of the Campaign Council for the three states’ governorship elections.

At the party primary election held earlier in the year, Melaye, Diri, and Anyanwu had, respectively, emerged as their state’s party governorship flagbearers.

According to this news source, the 186-member Imo State campaign council is presided over by Governor Lawal Dauda of Zamfara State, who Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State assists. Senator Chukwuka Utazi serves as the council secretary.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State will preside over the 150-member Kogi State Campaign Council, with Governor Caleb Matfwang of Plataue State serving as Adeleke’s deputy and Senator Biodun Olujimi serving as the council’s secretary.

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State is the Bayelsa State Campaign Council chairman. Governor Sheriff Obrevwori of Delta State is the vice-chairman, while Gabriel Onyeweife will act as the council’s secretary.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) insisted that the gubernatorial elections for Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi will begin on November 11, 2023, barring any last-minute changes.
