On Friday, Oct. 6 (Reuters), Sky Sports and ANSA reported that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba’s positive doping test was confirmed in a second sample, a month after being provisionally suspended.

NADO Italia found testosterone, which boosts endurance, in Pogba, suspending him.

The test followed Juve’s Aug. 20 3-0 Serie A season-opening win over Udinese.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri said he didn’t know the test result.

No idea, now I know. Allow us to wait… “Humanly, I feel sorry for Paul,” Allegri told a press conference before Juve’s Saturday home game against Torino.

Pogba could be suspended for two to four years for doping. His Juve contract expires in June 2026.

The 30-year-old Pogba was an unused substitute in the Udinese win.

The Frenchman has struggled with injuries after joining Juve on a free transfer from Manchester United last year.

The 2018 World Cup winner barely played last season due to knee and hamstring injuries and knee surgery that kept him out of the Qatar World Cup.

Pogba has only played two substitute games this season, most recently in a 2-0 win at Empoli.
