Osinbajo: PEBEC implemented 180 changes in 7 years.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo claimed that the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) produced 180 measures to simplify business in seven years.
Osinbajo said this Friday during a PEBEC award event honouring ministries, departments, agencies, and sub-nationals for business facilitation.
At the Abuja event, council chair Osinbajo said, “The PEBEC, over the years, developed a strategy to identify and implement bold pragmatic reforms by soliciting the support of other arms of government, including the legislature, judiciary and sub-national governments.
“Subsequently, young Nigerians from the commercial and public sectors have devised and implemented initiatives, including the national action plan that aided in executing priority reforms for each yearly reform cycle, and has accomplished 180 reforms and seven action plans throughout the years.”
The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council secretary and special assistant to the president on ease of doing business, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, said the PEBEC awards recognised those who help make Nigeria a more business-friendly nation.
