On Monday, August 7, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is scheduled to announce the 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.

In a note shared with PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday, Moyosola Adesina, the examination body’s head of public affairs, suggested this situation.

The likelihood of admission increases
The results announcement would provide a glimmer of optimism for applicants seeking admission to postsecondary schools.

The essential SSCE results were not included for some of the admission candidates who took the 2023 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). However, they did state that they were expecting their results.

Several postsecondary schools have started the admissions process since the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) held the UTME for applicants nationally in May.

2023 SSCE
The SSCE was held from May 8 to June 23, and 1,621,853 applicants from 20,851 government and private schools enrolled.

In accordance with the examination body’s standard procedure, “the results of candidates taking the test would be issued 45 days following the conduct of the final paper,” WAEC’s Head of Nigeria’s Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, had indicated in May.
