The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sent out 40,000 troops to ensure security as Muslims throughout Nigeria celebrate Eid-El-Fitr.

This was said in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by Commandant Olusola Odumosu, Director of Public Affairs for the NSCDC.

In cooperative operations with sister agencies, Odumosu said that the NSCDC Commandant General (CG), Ahmed Audi, gave orders to the staff to guarantee the effective security of vital national infrastructure and assets.

The CG also instructed the staff to staff critical areas such as car parks, marketplaces, retail centres, houses of worship, and other important sites.

He commanded formations’ leaders to be more watchful and acutely aware of their surroundings to prevent unpleasant surprises from the nation’s foes.

He warned that we wouldn’t take any risks, so you must be at the top of your game, very watchful, and highly sensitive to your surroundings.

He also instructed all commanders to take the initiative in order to get better outcomes.

“An intelligent-driven strategy must be used to stop crime in its tracks. Be proactive and make sure to use intelligent-driven techniques.

According to Audi, this will assist in gathering reliable information about the criminal elements’ planned intentions so that we may stop them before they attack.
