The Egyptian team Smouha SC has been instructed by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to pay Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi a sizable sum of $70,000. (N32 million).
The wise choice was motivated by Ajayi’s precarious circumstance, in which he found himself abandoned and without help from the club.
In October of last year, the 27-year-old sustained a crippling injury during a friendly match against Canal Club.
Ajayi began the difficult process of reporting the situation to FIFA after being distressed by Smouha SC’s lack of care and concern. He also brought up the problem of unpaid salary dues.
FIFA, who has always stood as the bulwark of justice in the football world, has given Smouha SC a brief 15-day deadline to pay the outstanding $70,000 compensation to the distressed Ajayi.
This requirement serves as a clarion call for all players, regardless of country, to be treated fairly and promptly compensated for their loyal contribution to their respective clubs.
Ajayi joined Smouha SC last year after recently severing relations with the Al-Nasr Benghazi organisation of Libya. His impressive employment with the Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, which lasted five outstanding years, is what defines his career trajectory.
Ajayi won an incredible eleven significant trophies during this time, including two prestigious CAF Champions League wins and four Egyptian Premier League championships.
Ajayi was a crucial part of the Super Eagles team that won the bronze medal at the prestigious Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics.
