Olubukola Bolarinde, the CEO of Yellow Speck Restricted, is prepared for her introductory solo workmanship presentation following the arrival of her movie, Onidiri.
The event, dubbed “106 Expressions,” will be coordinated by renowned culture and workmanship overseer Nike Davies-Okundaye and feature a cosy exhibition of Bolarinde’s crafts enlivened by cross-cultural interactions.
There will be a collection of artworks commemorating our African history, Bolarinde explained in a statement sent off Sunday Scoop. My experiences growing up in Africa have inspired me, and I think the pieces will “transport” anybody who sees them to a certain time and location, as seen through the eyes of an African youngster. Several kids will never have those encounters as our planet develops further.
The craft enthusiast also portrayed her area of expertise as a form of protection. According to her, each piece of artwork on display will tell an unforgettable tale. Born in Lagos, Bolarinde spent her formative years in the northern region of Nigeria, from Jos to Kaduna and Zaria. This helped to “laid out her remarkable feeling of personality and diversity,” as it was said, in the book Bolarinde by A. A. Milne.
She also said that for the collection, which is scheduled to debut on June 10, 2022, she would use various media, including acrylics and oils on material, as well as rich surfaces to create pieces that appeared to be three-layered and made of the material.
