There was hysterical celebration over the weekend as Super Eagles Supporters Club members who adhered to the club’s bylaws and refrained from participating in the charade of an election that was allegedly held in Abuja a few months ago finally regained control of their club through a government-backed Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) document of incorporation.
The document, a certified true copy of the certificate of incorporation, was signed by the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission on June 9, 2023, and it confirmed the removal of the names of the dissidents who attempted to illegally take over the club’s daily operations while affirming the 10 Trustees as the club’s legitimate owners and directors.
To emphasise, the resolution dated June 6, 2023, altered the trustees of SUPER EAGLES SUPPORTERS CLUB ABUJA, which was founded on June 7, 2018, as follows:
Obadiah Diji, Joseph Ani, Chigozie Nnadi Chibuzor Anyaora,
Other examples include Nnaoma Chigbu, Duad Alli, Dere Buwaghan, Olusola Oladejo, Owolabi Ayo, and Vincent Okumagba.
The incorporation certificate made this very obvious.
The certificate confirmed that names like Johnson Dagana, Sam Pirar, Catherine Edum, Ibeakamma Okechukwu, Ijeoma Okechukwu, and Olutoye Orishabiyi have now been struck from the list of SESC Trustees.
“Vincent Okumagba founded and currently leads SESC. He served as the FIFA Fan Leader for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Some people attempted to rob the club from him before he embarked on a medical tourism trip abroad. The Deputy Vice President of SESC, Chief Chibuzor Anyaorah, told this reporter on the phone that they had been suspended and that things had returned to normal.
You might remember that Vincent Okumagba, a Delta native and FIFA Fan Leader, recently won the first vice chairman of the African Football Supporters Association (AFSA) position. This summer, he will lead 100 Super Eagles Supporters Club members to Australia and New Zealand for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to support the Super Falcons throughout the tournament.
