Muhammad Bello Muazu, the NSCDC’s Zamfara State Commandant, has urged all Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) traders in the state not to make life difficult for the populace by hoarding and raising the price of the petroleum product at the pump.
As he gave the riot order to all petrol stations and oil merchants, Muazu made this accusation at the State Command headquarters in Gusau, the state capital.
Once Mr. President announced his decision to end petroleum product subsidies, he added, “The Corps has seen with dismay the unjustified artificial shortage of petroleum goods generated by petroleum marketers.”
He claimed that making petrol artificially scarce is sabotage and an attempt to prevent the smooth launch of the current administration.
The NSCDC commandant then issued a warning to all petroleum dealers to stop making life miserable for the citizens of Zamfara State. He also emphasised that the corps must ensure that there is an unrestricted supply of petroleum products going to the right place without diversion or hoarding.
He emphasised that NSCDC agents will patrol the city, and anyone found guilty would be subject to the full force of the law.
