In an interview with Arise, former Nigerian minister of Ation Osita Chidoka warned that outgoing president Muhammadu Buhari is leaving a bad country.

The PDP leader said Nigerians no longer trust government institutions in the interview. Osita Chidoka said Nigerians used to trust government institutions, particularly the courts. He said Peter Obi challenged his impeachment in court in this nation and was reinstated as governor of Anambra state.

Osita Chidoka said Nigerians no longer trust police and security institutions. He said family of kidnapped victims talked with the kidnappers instead of notifying the police.

Osita Chidoka stated, “He (Buhari) is leaving behind a damaged country, where the respect for human lives is at its lowest, where the capacity for people to feed is now a luxury. He left a nation where citizens distrust all national institutions, and this country’s court overturned Peter Obi’s impeachment and reinstated him.

All government institutions were functioning in this country. Buhari leaves a sleepy nation where no one trusts institutions. When kidnapped, people negotiate for their lives instead of notifying the police or security agencies.
