Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, has urged Gov. Alex Otti to assist the underprivileged in Abia.

According to Obi, who spoke at the interdenominational church service on Sunday to celebrate Otti’s inauguration, the well-being of the people is one of the main purposes of government.

Also, he advised Otti to never stop appreciating God’s favour in his life.

Obi, the special guest of honour at the occasion, proposed, “Let the poor folks be happy, let the retired and pensioners be pleased.”

Obi expressed hope that Otti would fix Abia and committed to returning in four years to run for Otti’s reelection.

Otti said in his speech that under his Administration, all Abians would breathe a sigh of relief and that their anguish will soon give way to gladness.

Otti promised that his Administration would assist the underprivileged and help them escape it.

“The people of God should be joyful at this time. The people rejoice when the godly are in authority, according to Proverbs 29:2, and I am confident that the Abia people will soon rejoice, Otti said.
