Bauchi State Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps agents arrested a state government-employed fake doctor.

Usman Yelwa, the suspect, worked at the General Hospital, Misau, Misau LGA, before his arrest.

Ilelaboye Oyejide, the state NSCDC Commandant, told journalists at the command’s headquarters about state security.

He said the suspect was arrested on credible intelligence, “and he is helping the corps in our investigation.”

Oyejide also said his officers arrested Muhammad Rinji, a suspected kidnapper.

Kidnappers are fleeing their enclaves, especially in Lame and other forests in Toro LGA, due to intense security operations.

A suspected kidnapper, Muhammad Sani Rinji, was found dead on October 15, 2023, after the corps increased patrol and surveillance.

“Our officers with Nasarawa State Command in Lafia arrested the suspect based on credible intelligence.

“The suspect admitted to all kidnappings and armed robberies in Toro LGA and beyond during interrogation.

“He gave a vivid account of his involvement in the kidnapping business,” the NSCDC commandant said.

Oyejide said the two suspects have been charged with the crimes for prosecution.

He said: “The command’s milestone is due to a strategic review of its operations, a robust change in our divisions’ and sister security agencies’ operations, and intelligence partnership.

“The command will not shy away from its constitutional mandate of protecting state citizens’ lives and property.”

Oyejide said, “I want to reiterate that all complaints should be reported to our command headquarters or the nearest division in the 20 LGAs in the state respectively.” The command is taking proactive measures through a robust partnership with critical stakeholders in the state.
