NPFL: 3SC drops to fourth after defeating Lobi, but Rangers and Enyimba maintain their chances of winning the championship

Rangers International of Enugu secured their top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Abia Warriors on Tuesday.

In an exciting match witnessed by a sizable crowd at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu, Isaac Saviour kick-started the goal frenzy with an early opener in the seventh minute.

Abia Warriors retaliated before halftime, with Adejoh Ojonugwa levelling the score.

However, Rangers dominated the second half, adding two more goals through Kazeem Ogunleye and Chiedozie Okorie.

Chiedozie Nwabueze managed to pull one back for Abia Warriors in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome.

In another oriental derby, Enyimba climbed to second place after securing a 1-0 victory against Heartland. Ekenne Awazie scored the decisive goal in the 35th minute.
