The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been linked to the recent attack on a US convoy in Anambra State. Still, the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has warned those making this connection to stop. They have done so because they want Peter Obi to lose and are merely demonising him.
The group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, revealed this in a statement and claimed that Obi’s mission is divine and cannot ever be reduced by anyone.
Powerful stated, “It is crucial to emphasise that those accusing IPOB of being behind the attack on the US Embassy convoy are the true masterminds,” while simultaneously denying that his men were involved in the attack as claimed by the Nigerian security.
He claimed that those who were behind it were equally accountable for the South East murders of the majority of its innocent members.
They have killed innocent people in Biafra Land in order to blackmail IPOB internationally. For example, these government assassins killed Gulak in Owerri and a military couple at an undisclosed Biafran location.
“In Anambra, they killed Dr. Akunyili, the late husband of Dora Akunyili. IPOB was implicated in each of these, and numerous other state-sponsored murder cases, but the police have never looked into any of them.
Furthermore, Powerful claimed that its intelligence division prevented the murder of former British High Commissioner Catriona Laing in 2022 when she suggested travelling there.
“They would have killed her too if it weren’t for the information provided by the IPOB M-Branch about the assassination plots for the former British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing, in 2022, and the warning from IPOB leadership for her not to visit the South East.
“This current attack on the convoy carrying the US Embassy is probably another state-sponsored attack to demonise the nonviolent IPOB movement and make it riskier for investors to continue travelling to Biafra to make investments. Once more, they are tardy since our appeal for investors has already begun to bear fruit.
Furthermore, Powerful issued a warning to individuals who were implicating Peter Obi in the attack on the US envoy, saying: “Those implicating Peter Obi in these attacks on the US Embassy Caravan are the ones that fingers are pointing to regarding the problem prevailing in the South East region.
“Since Peter Obi is from Anambra State, there is no way they can connect him to it as an innocent person. Does that imply that Atiku Abubakar and the Buhari administration in Aso Rock, respectively, are to blame for all the attacks taking place in Adamawa State and Katsina State?

“Can it also be said that all of the banditry and terrorism taking place in Northern Nigeria is being planned by their corrupt politicians, who have been implicated in supporting terrorists?
“We are aware that some terrorist and bandit groups operating in the North are supported by the dishonest people living there. We should inquire as to why Peter Obi is being mentioned.
Is it because he mustered the bravery to challenge their election-style selection procedure and triumphed handily? Because he is an Igbo man, they are currently depriving him of the mandate granted to him by the Nigerian people.
They are actively showing off their ignorance in an effort to vilify IPOB. Because of its highly developed intelligence, America is immune to manipulation by Alamajiris in Abuja’s government. We anticipate the US government conducting an impartial inquiry into the attack.
