The NNPP Board of Trustees (BoT) suspended Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s presidential candidate, in the February 25 election. This suspension stems from claims of party-betraying behaviour.
This ban now includes party National Working Committee members, according to the BoT. (NWC).

The BoT has appointed new national executives, headed by Dr. Agbo Major as Acting National Chairman and Mr. Ogini Olaposi as Acting National Secretary.

At the close of the meeting in Lagos on Tuesday, BoT Secretary Babayo Muhammed Abdulahi accused Kwankwaso of hobnobbing with President Bola Tinubu, PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi without board approval.

Abdullahi declared that the board had removed Kwankwaso as NNPP national head.

Abdullahi said: “The claimed suspension of the founder is a clear, severe breach of the NNPP constitution and recklessness and irresponsibility on the side of the inept NWC.

“The BoT found substantial evidence in the public sector that Kwankwaso was engaged in anti-party actions in numerous meetings and suggested political conversations with the President, Atiku, and Obi without board approval.

This earned him a six-month ban while awaiting a Disciplinary Committee inquiry.

“The BOT maintained that the avoidable MoU breach between NNPP and Kwankwasiyya, TNM, and NAGAFF requires withdrawal from the agreement.

He remarked, “It is thus to announce clearly that the MoU had been ruled void.”
