Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, a Labour Party (LP) candidate for deputy governor in Lagos State, has urged for the zoning of the Senate President and Speaker positions to women.

While discussing the nation’s development and women’s role in politics with reporters, Oyefusi made the demand.

After President-elect Bola Tinubu is sworn in, the 10th National Assembly in Nigeria is anticipated to be inaugurated in the first or second week of June.

Oyefusi pointed out that electing women to head the federal assembly would prove that operating an inclusive administration is possible.

She emphasised the necessity of upholding the national gender policy’s guidelines and being purposefully gender inclusive on Monday.

The woman urged the political figures advocate to respect the decision made on applying the national gender policy.

The Federal High Court’s Honorable Judge Donatus Okorowo made the decision favouring Nigerian women.

I’m encouraging all political officials to give women preference for the Speaker and Senate President seats.

This will demonstrate how true it is to manage an inclusive government. This will be seen as a demonstration of peace and understanding, Oyefusi said.
