Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has articulated his belief that Nigerians possess the resilience to surmount current challenges, seize opportunities, and forge a nation where every individual flourishes.

During his “Thank You Tour” in the United States, Obi reiterated this optimism, emphasising the potential for a new Nigeria under the guidance of capable leaders at all levels of government.

Reflecting on the tour and Obi’s enlightening lecture at Harvard Law School, the PONewNigeriaProject coordinators, Dr. David Ogula, Dr. Moses Paul, and Mrs. Ndidi Mbagwu, highlighted the impact of the journey across various US cities.

Obi remarked, “As we look ahead, let’s carry forward the lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the unwavering determination to build a brighter future for Nigeria. Together, we can overcome obstacles, seize opportunities, and establish a nation where every citizen thrives.”

The statement underscored the hopeful atmosphere of the tour, which was characterised by engaging discussions on Nigeria’s future and a shared vision for progress.

Obi noted the commitment of Nigerians in the diaspora to effecting positive change, emphasising the power of collective action and unity in shaping a compassionate and just future.

Throughout the tour, interactions with various groups, including the ‘Obidients’ family and the New Nigeria die-hards, facilitated meaningful dialogues and connections, driving the shared journey toward growth and progress.

Obi expressed gratitude to individuals whose dedication inspires excellence and fosters positive change in their communities.

Based on Obi’s message, Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, affiliated with the PO Nigerian New Nigeria project group, are mobilising to contribute to the realisation of a new Nigeria.
