ONDO CHURCH MEMBERS REACT TO SECURITY SETUP, THANK YOU GOVT FOR SUPPORT DURING ATTACK PKG
Members of the Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, are delighted with the security measures put in place around the church, but they want more.
Some of them told TVC News Ayodeji Moradeyo about their experiences and expressed their desire for the government to keep all of its commitments to them.
As the Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, reopened for worship, local security and the police were called in to ensure protection.
Following the July 5, 2022 terror assault, the church was shuttered for 10 months.
Along the road outside the church, there were security guards.
They praised the administration for its prompt involvement.
This woman, who lost both of her legs in the attack, wants the government to keep other commitments made to the victims of the tragedy.
The congregation is adamant about continuing to worship at the church, rain or shine.
CLERIC URGES PARENTS TO SUPPORT CHILDREN’S NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
Dr. Isa AbdulMujeeb, Imam of the Alausa Secretariat Community Central Mosque in Ikeja, has encouraged parents to educate their children the qualities of Islam.
AbdulMujeeb, a medical practitioner, addressed at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos Information Chapel’s annual Ramadan lecture, held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Ikeja.
“Teach your children the way of Islam and allow them to obey and follow Allah’s rules and values,” he urged. Education is a crucial that some youngsters lack. They will do exactly what we taught them. As parents, you must be mindful of what you do or say in front of our children.”
Ganiu Bamgbose, a lecturer at Lagos State University (LASU), also spoke out, urging parents to encourage their children who choose trade above study.
He discussed how parents may help their children achieve their goals.
“Building one’s dreams starts immediately,” Bamgbose said. “One finishes junior secondary school and an individual starts building their dreams immediately they get to senior secondary school.” From there, you may begin to plan your steps toward achieving your goals. As a result, parents should allow their children to be directed by their inherent abilities.
“The role of parents in the lives of their children is critical because depression leads to destruction.” They become involved in nefarious activities when they are desperate. Parents should interact with their children in a loving and compassionate manner.”
The All Progressives Congress working committee in Taraba state’s Takum Local Government Area has distanced itself from the alleged expulsion of Hon David Jimkuta, a senator-elect under the party’s platform, for alleged anti-party conduct.
Mr Mijinyawa Salihu, the APC LG chairman in Takum, claimed at a news conference in Jalingo that individuals who signed the reported expulsion are not APC members in TakumLG.
According to him, the signatories are merely opposition party mercenaries who failed in the recent primaries and governorship elections.
He reveals that those who organized the expulsion were unaware of the APC constitution, which grants the ward executive the authority to suspend or expel members.
