According to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu will lead Nigeria to prosperity.

Buhari made this statement while presenting Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima and President-elect Kashim Shettima with national prizes.

He stated at the occasion, which took place on Thursday at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, “The Nigerian people have recognised your leadership abilities, political acumen, and zeal to serve our great nation and have entrusted you with the weight of leading our dear country.”

“I am confident that under your leadership, Nigeria would continue to prosper and scale new heights. Nigerians rightfully selected you because you are the best candidate for the elections.

Buhari praised Tinubu for his “transformative leadership” when serving as governor of Lagos from 1999 to 2007, calling it an example of the incoming President’s “dedication to the welfare of the Nigerian people.”

He claims that Tinubu is devoted to maintaining the country’s unity and has demonstrated these traits in the past.

Nonetheless, he emphasised to Tinubu and Shettima that the country faces numerous difficulties and asked them to lead with compassion, wisdom, and openness when they assume office on Monday.

Buhari continued, “These are the pillars on which our nation’s success and development may be established.

“Today, with the authority vested in me as the President and Commander in Chief of the Military Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have conferred the national honours of His Excellency Bola Tinubu and those of His Excellency Kashim Shettima,” Buhari said upon bestowing the honours on them.

At the ceremony, the President also presented the transition document, which includes three important documents: a compendium of the important programmes and projects his administration has undertaken, briefing notes on each of the nine priority areas covering key sectors, and an update on policy status.
