Nigeria is evacuating students and other residents from Sudan.

The MFA and FMHADMSD are concerned about Nigerians affected by the humanitarian catastrophe in Sudan. On Monday, April 24, 2023, the Honorable Ministers stated that the ongoing war between the Sudanese Army and the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has hurt Nigerian students and others.

Nigerian students threatened
The message also warned Nigerian students of the risks of travelling alone to Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, or Chad.

The Nigerian government has ordered the humanitarian sector, which includes FMHADMSD, NEMA, NCFRMI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerian Missions in Sudan, and other stakeholders, to evacuate these students and other affected Nigerians.

Sudanese Nigerians, beware!
The honourable ministers urged Nigerians against making the dangerous trip to the borders alone.

Air transport is being planned to safely and dignifyly remove all trapped Nigerians through safe transit locations to Nigeria.
