Ngige advises the Igbos, “We shouldn’t all be in the same political party, and we should quit playing dirty politics.”

Senator Chris Ngige, Minister for Labour and Employment, has advised Nigeria’s Igbo population to avoid divisive politics by supporting one party in every political age.
” All of us should not be in one political party, some would be here and others would be there and if some individuals are not in the same party with you, don’t label them saboteurs,” he said.

At the commissioning of the Second Niger Bridge and other infrastructure projects by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, May 23, Ngige said these developments validated people who supported the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The first Niger Bridge was built in 1965 under Tafawa Belewa, when our brother, the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, was president. That political coalition produced that bridge.

After the war, a second bridge was needed because parts of the bridge were mined to prevent federal soldiers from crossing.

2005 the then-president sent contractors to build the bridge when I was governor. I told the South East that Buhari would build the second Niger Bridge and rebuild Enugu Airport when we brought him here to campaign, and he did it.

The APC government built the Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, Enugu-Abakaliki Road, and the Federal Secretariat in the South East despite our terrible politics in 2015 and 2019.

“All of us should not be in one political party, some would be here and some would be there and if some people are not in the same party with you, don’t call them saboteurs because Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and even Dr Micheal Okpara did the same thing and we must return to that old political culture that we left for long.”
