In support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s 2023 election win via their directorates.

Presidential election, past Directors and Secretaries of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) gathered on Saturday, August 12th, at the PCC headquarters in Abuja to discuss national problems and share mutual concerns.

In their first meeting, according to The Reflector, the “Former PCC Directors & Secretaries Forum” pledged to assist the Tinubu president by articulating and educating the Nigerian people about government policies in their areas.

In his opening remarks, the presiding chairman Rtd. Major-General A.M Jibril said the meeting was necessary to officially thank members for a job well done and show respect for the PCC leadership that paved the way for the President’s election victory in February 2023. Still, it was also important to articulate the right strategies to support the Tinubu administration going forward.

Socioeconomic strategies such as fuel subsidy elimination, fiscal and monetary policy harmonization, palliatives, the minimum wage, and the ECOWAS imbroglio with the Niger Republic’s military junta were explored to achieve this.

Participants also agreed that political appointees progressively disenfranchise the presidential campaign’s front-liners via their directorates. This worrying trend worries them. They are aware that the administration is still forming.

Hence, the forum chose executive council members to manage the previous Directors and Secretary of the PCC Directorates. These members are Maj. Gen. A M Jibril (Rtd), Chairman (Northwest); Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu, Dep. Chairman (Southeast); Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq Secretary (South-South); Alhaji Iliyasu Maazu, Dep. Sec. (Northeast); Hon. Femi Odere, Publicity Secretary (Southwest); Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohd, Dep. Pub. Sec (North Central); Rt Hon Matthew Omegara, Treasurer (Southeast); Shitu Muhammad, Dep. Treasurer (Northwest); Alamoh Kehinde Samuel, Organizing (Southwest).

Participants nominated and approved Forum patrons. H.E. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC National Chairman; Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Gov. Yahaya Bello, Executive Governor of Kogi State; H.E. Simon Lalong, Minister Designate; Rt. Hon.

Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff; Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, Deputy National Women Leader; Sens. Adams Oshimole, Victor Ndoma-Egba, Ifeanyi Ararume, Hon. James Faleke, Hon. Temi Harriman, Hon. Christopher Tarka, Prince Ade Omole, Dr A.A. Mai Agogo, Mr Dayo Israel, Mr Seyi Tinubu, and Mr Bayo Onanuga.
