Nasarawa State’s Executive Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has counselled the state’s traditional chiefs from participating in party politics since they continue to be the guardians of the people’s culture and traditions.
At a luncheon for the book “Administrative Guru, An Authorized Biography of His Royal Highness, H.E. Halilu Bala Usman,” which is about the 3rd Osu Ajiri and the traditional Chief of Edege Chifdom, Governor Sule recently delivered the keynote address. The author of the book is Adamu Usman Agyeni.
The Governor praised the celebrant’s leadership skills for ensuring that prolonged peace existed in his chiefdom despite the attempts of bandits and terrorists who have long been active in the region. The Governor expressed pleasure with the behaviour of traditional rulers in the state.
He warned them to be faithful to his government because he was about to check their well-being.
The event’s chairman, Amb. Umaru Suleiman Azores praised the young author for documenting the royal father’s activities and expressed pleasure with Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman’s leadership abilities in his remarks. His administrative experience spans decades.
Speaking at the event, His Royal Majesty, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, retired Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Traditional Council of Chiefs, thanked Engineer Abdullahi Sule, Governor of Nasarawa State, for his welfare packages for traditional rulers. Professor Suleiman Bala Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, the guest speaker at the event, advised traditional rulers always to expose criminals hiding in their territories.
